What gets written about
Every guide on Stitch Cottage is written by Marta Holloway. A pattern earns a place only after its stitch count is checked against the grid, its colour list is checked against floss that is still made, and its symbols are checked in black and white. A guide also has to say who each pattern is wrong for, not only who it suits.
What we do not do
We do not recommend a pattern we could not open and read in full. We do not rank a pattern higher because it pays more. We do not copy another site’s write-up; the figures and photos are our own.

Updates and corrections
Articles show a visible last-updated date. We revise a guide when the advice changes, such as a discontinued colour or a corrected count, and the date reflects that revision. Found a mistake? Tell us on the contact page and we will fix it.
