22. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? PSA. 27:1.
Why should I shrink at thy command
Whose love forbids my fears,
Or tremble at the gracious hand
That wipes away my tears?
Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path. PSA.27:11.
23. Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. ROM. 9:33.
Ashamed of Jesus! That dear Friend
On whom my hopes of heaven depend?
No; when I blush, be this my shame,
That I no more revere his name.
Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. PHIL. 4:4.
24. If, when we were enemies,
we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son; much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his
life. ROM. 5:10.
Jesus, my great High-priest,
Offered his blood and died;
My guilty conscience seeks
No sacrifice beside:
His powerful blood did once atone,
And now it pleads before the throne.
God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we
have now received the atonement. ROM. 5:11.
